IE8 to be released

Microsoft is set to release Internet Explorer 8 today! The release is to be at the same time as a keynote address at MIX09 today.

In the future this will be an automatic download via Windows Update but can be blocked using a kit issued by Microsoft.

Things we like are:

  • Tabs get a make over and are grouped logically making them easier to navigate the last tab opened.
  • You can search in the address bar like Google's Chrome.
  • Improved security features.

What we do not like:

  • Site developed using IE7 may not be displayed correctly.
  • Even though they have beefed up security as the old saying goes once bitten twice shy.
